There are plenty of places to shop in the Greater Newburyport region and you can have a lot of fun visiting them. One of the strengths of the region is the strong base and variety of independently owned (non-chain store) shops located in the downtown areas of the towns and cities in the region.
From Newburyport to Portsmouth or from Newburyport to Gloucester/Rockport, you will find a wonderful variety of shops. Most of these shops have a lot of character and individuality.
One of the larger chains that has a done a very nice job of fitting in with the local community is the Talbot’s womens clothing store located in downtown Newburyport and Hamilton.
