Byfield Cellist To Perform with Lighthouse Trio at Hobo’s Cafe

Byfield cellist and singer-songwriter Kristen Miller will be featured at Hobo’s Cafe when the Lighthouse Trio returns to Hobo’s Cafe at 5 Broadway, Salisbury Beach on Wednesday, May 7.
Ms. Miller, who was named Jam Magazine’s Female Artist of the Year for 2004, will perform at Hobo’s during the 8 p.m. half-time show. Her recent CD, “Strange Little Valentine,” which includes a Johnny Cash cover tune, has been charted on college and community radio stations nationwide.
The evening’s entertainment starts at 7:00 pm with the Lighthouse Trio. The trio plays a collection of vintage tunes from the ’30s, ’40s, and ’50s. Recent University of New Hampshire graduate Chris Klaxton takes on trumpet duties, while Malcolm Carnwath will lead the group through a blues segment during the first set. Singer Ella Gutowski of Topsfield will perform ballads and swing tunes, including material from Elvis and the Beatles.

North Shore Music Theatre. The North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT), located in Beverly, MA offers a year round venue for theatre, music and the arts. It is one of the largest non-profit producing theaters in New England, with approximately 350,000 patrons annually.

Newburyport
Firehouse Center for the Arts. The Firehouse Center for the Arts, located on the waterfront in historic downtown Newburyport, features an expansive art gallery, the intimate 195 seat Arakelian Theater which presents dance, concerts, drama, musicals, film, new works and children’s programming, and Not Your Average Joe’s restaurant.
The historic building that is home to the Firehouse Center for the Arts was built as a market house and lyceum by the citizens of Newburyport in 1823 and then served as the Central Fire Station from the mid 1800s until 1980.
A cooperative effort by the public and private sectors has restored the structure as a center for the arts and public events so that it will continue to serve the community for generations to come. The year 1991 heralded the Gala Opening of the Firehouse Center.
Over the past eleven years, the Firehouse Center has been a hallmark of local culture and arts, drawing patrons from the local communities as well as a large tourist crowd in the spring, summer and fall. Programming is broad-based, and includes and dance, music, theater, an art gallery, and a school show series.
