Intertown Twilight Baseball League
June 14, 2008
The Intertown Twilight League was founded in 1929 and is the oldest active amateur baseball league in the country. A fact that has been recognized by the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
The ITL fields teams from Beverly, Hamilton, Ipswich, Manchester, Rockport, Rowley, & Topsfield. Most of the players are college or former college/high school players; a few have had professional experience.
The baseball fields used by the Rowley, Ipswich, Hamilton and Topsfield teams are pretty easy drives from Newburyport.

Clippers Steal Their Way To Cape Ann League (CAL) Championship
May 23, 2008
Newburyport got off to a slow start early in the season (1-4), but managed to turn it around and finished strong with a 10-3 CAL record. Overall they are 12-7 with one game remaining to be played on Sunday against Maimonides.
This year’s team lacked the big bats and the offensive power of past Clipper teams, but they made up for it with team speed, hustle and the ability to successfully steal bases. With one game remaining to play, Newburyport already has a school record 65 stolen bases.
The team speed should serve Newburyport well in the MIAA Division 3 Tournament.
