Tickets Available for Speech By George Will at Salem State, September 23rd

Cost: Reserved seats are $40 to $75, general admission $20 and student tickets (with identification) $10.
There are still approximately 300 hundred seats available to hear syndicated columnist George Will speak Tuesday evening, September 23rd at Salem State College.
The college has sold 1,300 tickets, but has 300 remaining, an official said. Reserved seats are $40 to $75, general admission $20 and student tickets (with identification) $10.
George Will, a popular TV commentator and writer, will discuss “The Political Argument Today” at 8:00 p.m. in the Twohig Gymnasium at the O’Keefe Sports Center of Salem State College.
Mr. Will is a late replacement for former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards and his wife, Elizabeth. They dropped out after John Edwards admitted having an extramarital affair with a former campaign worker.

Amesbury Public Library Sponsoring Wii Bowling League

Well, kind of as this is video game-based bowling using the Nintendo Wii gaming console.
The Amesbury Public Library is sponsoring this new Wii Bowling League for grades 7 through 12. The program will take place on Wednesday afternoons this fall at 3:30 p.m., starting on September 24th.
If you are in grades 7 through 12, come have some fun, get a little exercise, and socialize with friends. Registration is required ~ call or stop by the library to sign up!

The 19th Hampton Beach Seafood Festival got underway yesterday evening when New Hampshire Governor John Lynch cut the ceremonial ribbon to start the 2½-day festival. The festival was again recently named one of the top 100 events in North America attracts over 150,000 visitors during its two and a half days.

The Hampton Beach Seafood Festival, which is organized by the Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce, gets bigger and better each year. This year, in its 19th year, the festival will feature more than 60 of the Seacoast’s top restaurants.
The Hampton Seafood Festival draws a large crowd - it attracts more than 150,000 visitors to the beach over the three-day event. While seafood is the main attraction, there are also plenty of non-seafood eating activities to keep the entire family occupied, including a Saturday night fireworks display!

108th Myopia Horse Show in Hamilton, Labor Day Weekend

Just about 13 miles south of Newburyport and an easy drive down Route 1A, the Myopia Horse Show in Hamilton will be holding its 108th annual show this Labor Day weekend.
The two-day show, which is free to all, is one of the premier sporting and social events on Boston’s North Shore and is one of the three oldest horse shows in the country. The Myopia Horse Show preserves its colorful traditions of Sporting Hunter classes and Show Jumpers while adding an exciting new sport to the equestrian mix.
