Hurricane Bill’s journey up the eastern coast of the United States was a godsend for the local surfing community as they got the opprotunity to enjoy big surf!
An article by Jeff Howe on the NESN website reports that New England Patriots rookie long snapper, Jake Ingram, enjoyed the weekend surfing in the waters off the New Hampshire seacoast and enjoying the large swells generated by Hurricane Bill off the beaches of Hampton and North Hampton.
Ingram, a Hawaiian and avid surfer, attended the University of Hawaii, and grew up in Oahu, HI.

Moose At The Beach, Hampton Beach Moose Exhibit, Tuesday, August 18th

Where: Hampton Beach, directly across from the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom
On Tuesday, August 18th, a life-sized exhibit portraying two battling bull moose will be on display from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., directly across from the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom.
The exhibit is being presented by the New Hampshire Locked Moose Antler Project Inc. in cooperation with the New Hampshire Conservation Officers Relief Association and supports the mission of the N.H. Fish and Game Department.

Great White Tooth Found On Hampton Beach, NH

Initially, she thought it may have been from an extinct shark species called Carcharodon megalodon, the “megatooth” shark, which existed 2 million years ago.

The 19th Hampton Beach Seafood Festival got underway yesterday evening when New Hampshire Governor John Lynch cut the ceremonial ribbon to start the 2½-day festival. The festival was again recently named one of the top 100 events in North America attracts over 150,000 visitors during its two and a half days.

The Hampton Beach Seafood Festival, which is organized by the Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce, gets bigger and better each year. This year, in its 19th year, the festival will feature more than 60 of the Seacoast’s top restaurants.
The Hampton Seafood Festival draws a large crowd – it attracts more than 150,000 visitors to the beach over the three-day event. While seafood is the main attraction, there are also plenty of non-seafood eating activities to keep the entire family occupied, including a Saturday night fireworks display!

Former world surfing champion Shaun Tomson will visit Cinnamon Rainbows Surf Company on Friday, August 29th, according to Dave Cropper, the surf shop’s owner, to help promote the movie “Bustin’ Down the Door” an award-winning surfing documentary that will be shown at 9:00 p.m. later Friday evening at the Ioka Theatre in Exeter, NH.

EPA Awards Grant To N.H. Department of Environmental Services Public Beach Inspection Program

The grant money will be used for the continuation of water quality testing at New Hampshire’s state beaches. The Federal Beach Act of 2000 requires that coastal states notify the public of the water quality.

Herbie Hancock Wows Hampton Beach Casino Crowd

This past Wednesday, jazz master Herbie Hancock and his talented team of jazz musicians and vocalists provided lucky concert attendees with an energy packed and memorable performance.
The Hampton Beach Casino show was only Hancock’s third American performance after a long European tour.
Hampton Beach Children’s Festival, August 11th through 15th

The Annual Hampton Beach Children’s Festival is the family fun event of the summer, kicking off on Monday, August 11th with a magic show by BJ Hickman on the Hampton Beach Seashell Stage at 10:00 a.m., and building up to a Giant Costume Parade that marches almost the length of Hampton Beach on Friday, August 18th. Every child gets a prize just for being in it!
Each day will be a blockbuster, filled with non-stop activity and entertainment, including mini-golf and sand castle building competitions, a Ronald McDonald show, talent show, free ice cream, dancing, story tellers, balloons, and more. There’s even a kids’ bumper sticker contest.
