One of the local businesses that does very well in the international realm of tourism is the inn, Blue Inn On The Beach, located on Plum Island, Newbury, MA.

This contemporary and stylish inn continues to garner international recognition as a worthy lodging destination when in the New England area.

A recent article posted online on the British media website, The Independent, singled out the inn as one of five shore-side, contemporary East Coast hotels in the United States to check out.

Blue Inn On The Beach is in good company in the article and was joined by two other New England hotels, Hidden Pond Cottages of Kennebunkport, Maine and the Vanessa Noel Hotel Green on the island of Nantucket.

Rounding out the hotel selections were the Surf Lodge, Montauk, on Long Island, New York, and the Bungalow Hotel, Long Branch, New Jersey.

The well written article, written by Ellen Albanese, provides a nice overview of the layout of the inn and its stylish design. The article walks you through the facility describing the spacious oceanfront suite (more than 250 sq. ft) that Ms. Albanese stayed in as well as the overall style of Blue. 

Diane Beaudry, the manager of Blue, told Ms. Albanese that the inn was modeled after the Delano Hotel, located in the South Beach section of Miami Beach.

The overall review gives high marks to the stylish design and ambience of the inn, but did not like the 15% mandatory service fee that is added to the room rates.
