February 22, 2012

When: Friday, March 2nd, 2012 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Where: Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary, 87 Perkins Row, Topsfield, MA
Fee: Adults $14.00 (members)/$16.00 (non-members)

If you have a fascination or interest in owls, this event at the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary is for you.

Owls, with their haunting hoots and cries and human-like eyes, have been woven into folklore and legend since ancient times. Even today, because of their mostly nocturnal habits, owls are a fascinating, somewhat elusive group of birds to study.

Spend an evening with Scott Santino, Teacher-Naturalist, at the sanctuary learning about the natural history of the owl species that occur in Massachusetts.

Following an indoor presentation, we will walk outdoors to listen for a great horned owl and try to summon up barred owls and eastern screech-owls.

Instructions and Directions: Meets in the Nature Center. Please dress warmly.

Registration: Registration is required. You can register by phone, with a credit card, by calling (978) 887-9264.
