The 53rd Yankee Homecoming Celebration, an annual Newburyport tradition, begins on Sunday, July 25th and runs through Sunday, August 1st.
Yankee Homecoming Events Scheduled for Tuesday, July 27th 2010
- 9:00 am to 6:00 pm: Market Square Festival (State, Pleasant and Inn Streets Area)
- 10:00 to 11:30 am: Heritage Tours: Oak Hill Cemetery – Visit the gravesites of Newburyport mayors, ministers, doctors, and photographers. Tour the Brown Chapel currently under restoration.
- 10:30 am to 12:30 pm: Heritage Tours: Yankee Homecoming Historical Tours By Ralph Ayers. Meet at Information Booth, Waterfront Park
- 2:30 to 4:30 pm: Heritage Tours: Yankee Homecoming Historical Tours By Ralph Ayers. Meet at Information Booth, Waterfront Park
- 4:00 to 5:00 pm: Heritage Tours: Tracy Mansion Tour, Public Library. Come see the 18th-century Tracy Mansion, the original Newburyport Library built in 1771.
- 6:25/6:35 pm starts: 50th Annual Yankee Homecoming 10 Mile and 5K Races, Newburyport High School Starting Line
- 7:30 to 9:00 pm: Waterfront Concert Series, COMPAQ BIG BAND, Waterfront Stage
