Clipper City Rail Trail Tiptoe Walking Tour

You can take a 90-minute guided walking tour of Newburyport’s recently opened Clipper City Rail Trail on Sunday, July 25th from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. The 1.1 mile trail is fully paved and includes a new 85-foot pedestrian bridge has over Low Street, Newburyport. The trail runs from the Newburyport Commuter Rail Station (MBTA) to the Merrimack River.

While walking along and exploring the Clipper City Rail Trail, you’ll enjoy learning about Newburyport’s history:

  • Pearson’s Bakery
  • E.P. Dodge shoe factory
  • Cashman Park
  • Quaker Cemetery
  • Old Jail
  • Old Hill Burying Ground
  • African Americans in the 1800s in Newburyport

Where To Meet: Meet at the Cashman Park/Merrimack River entrance to the Rail Trail.
