If you live for fireworks, Hampton Beach is celebrating the kickoff of the 2010 Summer Season with a special Memorial Day fireworks display on Sunday, May 30th.
The 15 minute show will start at the top of C Street on the beach at 9:30 pm.

The Wednesday evening weekly fireworks show at Hampton Beach will commence on June 23rd at 9:30 p.m. and continue throughout the summer season.

The Role of Preservation and The Evelina M. Goulart, Essex Shipbuilding Museum, Thursday, May 27th

On Thursday, May 27th, the Essex Shipbuilding Museum is holding its fourth and final presentation as part of its symposium in recognition of the 20th anniversary of the return of the Evelina M. Goulart, a rare transitional dragger built at the A.D. Story Shipyard in Essex, Massachusetts in 1927.

The dragger, returned in 1990, is one of seven remaining Essex-built schooners in existence and has now been on exhibit at the Essex Shipbuilding Museum for longer than most of her sisters survived at sea.

Join friends and members of the Museum for the conclusion of its four-part symposium on the Evelina M. Goulart. The presentation is being made by two national experts in the field of maritime history and preservation: Erik Ronnberg, Jr. and Dana C. Hewson.

From trilliums to dogwood to the famous, spectacular rhododendrons and azaleas for which Maudslay is well known, get to know this resource rich park and its blooms.

On Saturday and Sunday, you can join the Maudslay State Park interpreter on a walk through the park to see all that has bloomed during the current week. It’s a great way to get to know and explore this resource rich park and its blooms.

The walks are for all ages. An adult must accompany children under 12.

You and your pre-schooler(s) are invited to join the staff of Maudslay State Park, Newburyport, for the Kidleidoscope Program from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

Each week the Kidleidoscope program will introduce your pre-schooler to a new topic about nature in a three-part program that includes:

  • a story
  • a craft and
  • an activity (that includes outdoor exploration).

Each program lasts about an hour.

This program is for ages 3 to 6. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
