Northeast Harvest is a collaborative project of the Essex Agricultural Society and the Essex National Heritage Area, two organizations working together to help sustain the farmers and agricultural producers of Essex County and MiddlesexCounty, Massachusetts. They work in collaboration with many other organizations as well as individual growers and agricultural producers to highlight the number and variety of farms and food products that are available in northeastern Massachusetts.
Thomas Leoanard, President Emeritus of the Essex Essex Heritage Area, states in his post in Essex Happenings that Essex National Heritage Area has had a working relationship for some time with the Essex Agricultural Society to assist the farmers of this region. That relationship has advanced to the point where they now have a website and a monthly newsletter that provides information to consumers about the wonderful agricultural resources available in this region. The relationship that is now called Northeast Harvest Buy Local is offering a first ever seminar for the agricultural resources of the area.
