High School Hockey, Newburyport vs Amesbury, Graf Rink, Wednesday, January 20th

Where: Graf Rink, Low Street, Newburyport, MA

There is one local high school hockey game on the schedule for tonight, Newburyport vs Amesbury, at the Graf Rink, Newburyport. Game time is 7:00 pm.

These teams faced off a week ago on January 13th with Newburyport(7-3-1) coming out of the game with a 3-1 hard fought win. Amesbury (1-7-2) played a great game against Newburyport and had them on the ropes for a good portion of the first and second periods.

Newburyport has been struggling this season on getting  its offense and defense on track. On Monday afternoon they lost a tough game at the Graf, surrendering a three goal lead in the third period and eventually losing to the Gloucester Fishermen, 5-4, with a little over a minute to go in the game.  Amesbury skated to a 1-1 tie against Pentucket on Saturday, January 16th.

Could be another exciting game between the two teams if Newburyport can’t get untracked on the ice and break out of the funk they’ve been in. With 15 points gained so far this season, Newburyport only needs five more points to qualify for the state high school hockey tournament. 

Pentucket vs North Andover

In other hockey game action tonight, Pentucket Regional High School is facing off against North Andover in an 8:00 pm game at Merrimack College, North Andover.
