Greater Newburyport Cape Ann League High School Hockey, Saturday, January 2nd

Currently three local high school Cape Ann League (CAL) hockey games are scheduled for Saturday evening, January 2nd for local River Rivals team:

Note: With the ongoing snow forecast for Saturday evening, please check with the rinks to make sure these games are still scheduled to be played. We have heard “talk” earlier today that the Amesbury/North Reading game scheduled to be played at Burbank Arena in Reading may be canceled/postponed.

Newburyport vs Wilmington, 7:00 pm, @ Graf Rink, Newburyport

Should be a great game at the Graf Rink as undefeated, and in 1st place, Wilmington (6-0-0) takes on Newburyport (3-1-1) in a clash between CAL hockey powers. Newburyport would like to shake Wilmington from the unbeaten ranks, but it will take a strong, three period performance from the Newburyport Clippers, currently in 3rd place, to knock off the Wilmington Wildcats.

Triton vs Masconomet, 7:30 pm, @ Governor’s Academy, Byfield

Triton (0-3-1) will have their hands full as they take on the 2nd place Masconomet team (4-1-1) at Governor’s Academy in Byfield. The Triton Vikings are looking are their first win of the year against a strong Masco team.

Amesbury vs North Readin, 6:00 pm, @Burbank Arena, Reading

Will Amesbury (0-3-1) capture their first win of the season this evening against the North Reading Hornets (1-2-1)? Amesbury has been in some close games. This could be the game that puts them on the winning side of the equation.
