Plum Island Beach Cleanup, Newburyport, Sunday, September 13th

If you would like to help with a Plum Island beach cleanup, BOAT CAMP Inc, Newburyport, is looking for volunteers of all ages to help them with their beach cleanup on Sunday, September 13th.

BOAT CAMP Inc. has adopted the stretch of Plum Island beach that spans from Captain’s Fishing Parties’ pier to the South Jetty as it runs along the Merrimack River. This heavy use of this beach this summer has taken its toll based on the amount of debris left behind.

Join BOAT CAMP on Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. at the Captain’s Fishing Parties’ pier for our second beach cleanup as part of Coastsweep weekend. They will provide bags, tally up the debris and recycle as much as possible.

Volunteers of all ages are welcome.

BOAT CAMP Inc., a nonprofit marine and environmental education organization that offers a variety of week-long summer programs for kids ages 5 and older ashore and afloat, is offering a new summer program this year, “River Runners.”

They are located on the waterfront at Hilton’s Marina , next door to Plum Island Coffee Roasters. Visitors are always welcome to stop in and view the animals inside their 110-gallon saltwater touch tank!
