If you want to learn about some of the areas where you can go birding in Amesbury, join Newburyport Birders for an exploration of the Powow River trail in Amesbury.
On Sunday, September 6th, Newburyport Birders will explore birding opportunities on the trail that runs along the Powow River. The trail can be accessed from behind Acapulco’s restaurant in Carriagetown Plaza on Route 110 in Amesbury.
The river’s tidal nature provides good habitat birds. The lower portion of the Powow is a tidal, freshwater estuary and exhibits more freshwater than saltwater characteristics. In the summer months, the area is brackish.
This is a limited-participation program; so register early.
All levels of birders are welcome.
This is a nice way to get familiar with birding along the Powow River in Amesbury if you aren’t familiar with the area.
