New Weekly Birding Program, Weekends At Mass Audubon’s Joppa Flats Education Center, Newburyport

Mass Audubon’s Joppa Flats Education Center, Newburyport, announces a new weekly birding program, Saturday Birding: What’s that Bird.

Every Wednesday for fourteen years, Joppa Flats’ well-known midweek program, Wednesday Morning Birding, has attracted birders of all levels to the Newburyport area from all over the world.

The new Saturday program, Saturday Birding: What’s That Bird?, will show non-birders the simple joy of discovering a new way to experience the beauty and wonder of nature, with birds as the focus and the Plum Island/Newburyport area as the backdrop.

Program Details

Every Saturday (afternoons in September; mornings from October on), experienced leaders at Joppa Flats will offer a field trip around one of the best areas to see birds in New England. Each two-hour program takes only six participants, allowing everyone in the van plenty of time and attention. The program is for adults and families with children ages 8 and up

Although this program is meant for people who have had little to no exposure to birds, anyone with a curiosity about birds or nature is welcome.

When:

Saturdays in September, 3:30-5:30 p.m.
Saturdays in October through December, 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Fees: Mass Audubon members $5; nonmembers $7

Preregistration: Preregister by calling 978-462-9998 or drop in untill the van is full.
