On Tuesday and Wednesday, September 2nd and 3rd, the tall ship, Alabama, owned by the successful New England apparel retail business, the Black Dog, will be docked at the Newburyport waterfront for dockside tours by the public.

The Alabama is a 90-foot, gaff-rigged fore and aft schooner, originally designed by Thomas McManus and built by Pensacola Ship Building Co. of Florida in 1926. The ship, which is captained by Morgan Douglas, the company’s general manager, will offer dockside tours both days and will also host a fundraiser for the Newburyport Art Association.
