The 8th Annual Newburyport Riverfront Music Festival, sponsored by the Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce & Industry and WXRV – The River, 92.5 FM gets started on Friday evening at 8:00 p.m., July 10th with a special ticketed performance by Vienna Teng at The Firehouse Center for the Arts.

Friday Evening Special Performance at the Firehouse Center For The Arts

Come and hear Vienna’s clear and distinct voice at the Firehouse. The 27-year-old Rounder Records artist has already released two critically acclaimed independent albums: 2002′s Waking Hour and 2004′s Warm Strangers, which landed on three Billboard album charts and reached #2 on Amazon’s best-seller list.

She’s appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman and toured widely, opening for such artists as Shawn Colvin, Joan Osborne, Patty Griffin, Joan Baez and the Indigo Girls.

Tickets for the performance by Vienna Teng are $20.00 for members of the Firehouse Center for the Arts and $22.00 for non-members.

Saturday’s Free, Outdoor Concert

The 8th Annual Newburyport Waterfront Music Festival takes over Newburyport for a free afternoon of music on Saturday, July 11th, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. with outdoor performances on the stage at Waterfront Park.

This is one of the best venues in the area for outdoor performances. If you are going to attend, try to arrive early as this festival is often the largest single day event in Newburyport!

Arrive early to get a good seat. People start spreading out their blankets and setting up their lawn chairs hours before the first note plays.

If the weather cooperates, it becomes a wonderful day to enjoy outdoors on the Newburyport waterfront. The festival runs from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

This Year’s Performers At The Free, Outdoor Concert

Fastball, whose hits include “The Way,” headlines the Saturday outdoor concert bill with Eric Hutchinson, Sam Roberts Band and Kate Herzig filling out the lineup.
