Purple Martins of Plum Island, Newburyport Birders, Sunday, July 5th, 2009

When: Sunday, July 5th, from 7:00pm to sunset
Where: North end of Plum Island, meet at the Old Headquarters’ site of the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge (near the lighthouse)
Suggested Donation: $15

Purple Martins of Plum Island

With the weather finally improving, you can join Sue McGrath, of Newburyport Birders at the north end of Plum Island, at the Old Headquarters’ site of the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge, for an evening, educational program on the Purple Martins of Plum Island.

If you go. you’ll watch the graceful flight and the social antics of the largest of our North American swallows. You”ll listen to their gurgles and learn about their breeding cycle and migration.

Dress in long pants and long sleeved shirt.

All donations will be used for human-supplied housing for these dependent songbirds.
