MAUDSLAY ARTS CENTER SUMMER CONCERTS

The summer season at Newburyport’s premiere outdoor venue, the Maudslay Arts Center, located at Maudslay State Park, Newburyport, kicks off on Saturday, July 4th, with a performance by Barrence Whitfield & the Savages that starts at 7:00 pm.

Ticket Prices: Patio seating at tables $20; lawn seating $18. (Lawn seating is free for children 12 and under).

In the event of rain or inclement weather, the venue will be held indoors in the adjacent concert barn.

About Barrence Whitfield:

Barrence Whitfield, a Boston-based singer of “traditional” R&B, is the owner of one incredible pair of lungs and limitless energy and enthusiasm for his music. He started singing in a Gospel church as a young child. Throughout his high school years, he belonged to bands as both a singer and a drummer.

Initially, he molded himself after Little Richard and James Brown, although he has many role models and admires such greats as Duke Ellington, Slim Gallard, Thelonious Monk, the Funkadelics, and Raymond Scott. But the sound he has crafted over two decades of performing is unquestionably his own.
