Local Singer/Songwriter Susan Levine To Perform At Finch Coffeehouse, Newburyport, Friday, June 19th

The Finch Coffee House, after an incredibly successful first season, is featuring local singer/songwriter Susan Levine as their season closer on Friday, June 19th. They will reopen in the fall for their second season.

Levine, who is the subject of a feature article in this month’s
Merrimac Valley Magazine, is at the same time a very compelling
songwriter and a wonderful musician.

She has garnered prestigious awards and has two cd’s to her credit.

Susan’s sophomore album, Atlas, is an atmospheric song cycle of longing, of people and places lost and found, and of the journey home, carried by a singular voice that is “worldly without being world-weary and candid without being cynical.” (miriam lawrence, 02138 magazine).

Recorded and produced by Tom Eaton, Finch’s sound man (who has also produced ellis paul, vance gilbert), Atlasfeatures a core band including John Sands (aimee mann) on drums, Richard Gates (suzanne vega) on bass, and Sean Staples (resophonics) on mandolin, with Tom Eaton on piano, vibes, guitars and hammond, Mark Erelli, John Curtis, Duke Levine and Rob Laurens on guitars and Sandy Martin on pedal steel.

Special guests Jennifer Kimball and Jon Nolan contribute harmonies.

Tickets ost $15.00. The monthly shows at Finch have tended to sell out. Tickets are available in advance at Dyno Records, Middle Street Newburyport or at the door.

The doors open at 7:00 and the show begins at 8:00 pm.
