Make Way For Molly Pan Mass Challenge Fundraiser
If you want to enjoy a fun night of dancing, food, entertainment, a silent auction and raffles, and also help raise money in the fight against cancer at the same time, plan on attending the Make Way For Molly PMC Fundraiserat the Elks Lodge, Newburyport on Friday evening, May 29th.
Fundraiser for Molly Callahan
The event is being hosted by the Barlow family of Newburyport and many of their friends to help raise money to support the fight to eradicate cancer and to help with the ongoing medical care and expenses of Molly Callahan of Reading, MA, the Barlow’s 13-year-old niece/cousin who has been battling leukemia for almost three years.
Last year, the father/son tandem of Newburyport residents Mike and Sam Barlow, participated in the Pan Mass Challenge (PMC), a two day bike-a-thon in which cyclists from all over the world trek various routes throughout the Commonwealth to raise money for life-saving research at the Dana-Farmer Cancer Institute via the Jimmy Fund. The Barlow’s biked the 84-mile route from Wellesley to Bourne for “Make Way for Molly,” a team of 14 family members and friends riding for their niece and cousin.
Molly has finished her treatment this past fall and is doing well due to the outstanding care she has received at the Jimmy Fund and Children’s Hospital.
Unfortunately, cancer has taken away loved family members and close friends this year. No matter whom you speak with this disease has affected them. Cancer doesn’t discriminate, it doesn’t matter how old you are: man or woman, boy or girl; mother or father; son or daughter; brother or sister; friend.
This year the Barlow’s want to thank all of you who have donated in the past and have a night of celebration and fun while raising money to wipe out this life altering disease.

By entering the Pan Mass Challenge (PMC), Mike and Sam Barlow have committed to raising at least $7000.00 together. As Sam says, “riding 84 miles is nothing compared to what Molly has had to go through”.
