His latest report, Recent Bird Sightings From Plum Island, identified seventy two species of birds in the Plum Island area of Greater Newburyport for the ten day period ending on January 18th.

Some of the more notable sightings in recent days include the following:

  • Snowy Owl
  • Short-eared Owl
  • Bald Eagle
  • Northern Shrike
  • Sharp-shinned Hawk

Plum Island is a barrier beach located in Newburyport, Newbury, Rowley, and Ipswich, Massachusetts. Most sightings on the list are from the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge, which makes up the southern two thirds of the island.
