The Parker River National Wildlife Refuge is sponsoring a Nature on New Year’s Day event on Thursday, January 1st, at the refuge from 2:00 p.m. to dusk.
January is a great time to start birding and celebrate winter’s natural beauty. Join Refuge volunteer Sue McGrath to search for wintering birds and usher in 2009 with the wildlife of Plum Island.
Bring warm clothing and waterproof shoes/boots, binoculars and a snack. Meet at refuge parking lot # 1.

The Graf Rink in Newburyport is now accepting applications for its Learn to Skate and Tiny Tots programs beginning in January and February.
Classes will run on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. Classes are available during the day, evening and on weekends. Spaces are limited!

Admission is free for all girls wearing youth basketball shirts at the game. All girls playing youth basketball in Merrimac, Groveland and West Newbury are invited to the Pentucket High girls basketball game vs. Triton on Friday, December 19th at Pentucket High School.

Three-day Baseball Clinic at Strike One, Danvers, Dec. 29-31

Matt Antonelli of the San Diego Padres will conduct a three-day baseball clinic at Strike One on Route North 1 in Danvers, Dec. 29-31.
The clinic is open to players age 8 and up, and the cost is $150.
The clinic will be held from 12:30 pm to 3:00 p.m. on December 29th, and from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Dec. 30 and 31.
Hitting, fielding and fundamentals will be stressed. There will be an autograph session and raffle following the clinic on Wednesday.
