Upcoming Red Cross Lifeguard & Water Safety Training Courses at Greater Newburyport YWCA

The YWCA Greater Newburyport is offering an American Red Cross lifeguard training/waterfront certification course and a water safety training course for instructors in its new pool at 13 Market St. in Newburyport.

Lifeguard Training Course, July 26th through August 3rd

The Lifeguard Training course is offered July 26th through August 3rd. Participants must be at least 15 years old. Prerequisite testing is required to take this course. Those who complete the program will receive lifeguard training, waterfront and first aid certification, valid for three years, and CPR/AED for the professional rescuer certification, valid for one year. The cost is $300 for members, $350 for nonmembers.

Water Safety Course, August 16th and 17th, August 23rd and 24th

The Water Safety course is offered from 9:00 a.m. to 5:oo p.m over two weekends:

  • Saturday, August 16 and and Sunday, August 17
  • Saturday August 23 and Sunday, August 24

The cost is $325 for members, $375 for nonmembers.
