This week he describes what the month of June is like for birders out on the Parker River Wildlife Refuge. He reports that some of the more secretive marsh birds like the American bittern and king rail have been seen on the refuge. Visit his column for more information.

Steve Grinley is the owner of Bird Watcher’s Supply and Gift at the Route 1 traffic circle in Newburyport and the Nature Shop at the Joppa Flats Mass Audubon Center on the Plum Island Turnpike.He is a passionate birder and knows the local area very well. The Greater Newburyport region, including the North Shore/Cape Ann  and New Hampshire seacoast region, offers some of the finest bird watching opportunities in the country.
