Clipper Soccer Girls Win And Move On To Eastern Massachusetts Final

Congratulations to the Newburyport High School Girls Soccer team for their 6-1 victory yesterday over the Ipswich High School Girls Soccer team in the Eastern Mass Division 3 North Finals. The Newburyport Clippers played a strong, disciplined, team game against the Ipswich Tigers. For the Clippers it was their second consecutive Eastern Mass North division championship.

The Newburyport Clippers are clicking on all cylinders as they head into the Eastern Massachusetts Division 3 Championship game tomorrow, Wednesday, November 14th, at Quincy’s Memorial Stadium. The Clippers will be facing off against the Norwell High School Clippers. It should be an exciting game as Newburyport lost to Norwell, 2-1, in an earlier game this season.

On a side note, all of the Cape Ann League Girls high school soccer teams are to be congratulated for the outstanding level of play they have shown this season. The Cape Ann League girls soccer program is one of the strongest and most competitive in the state. Four Cape Ann League schools made it to the semifinals - Newburyport, Lynnfield, Ipswich and Georgetown. The players and coaches have a lot to be proud of for their work ethic and commitment to the game of soccer.
