Mercury Brewing Company, the local brewers of the very successful (and tasty) Ipswich and Stone Cat Ales, is having its annual Ipswich Ale Harvest Fest on saturday, October 6th at its Haywood Street location in Ipswich, MA.
Ipswich Ale was chosen Reader’s Choice for Best Locally Brewed Beer in Northshore Magazine’s 2007 “Best of North Shore” (BONS) Awards. Mercury Brewing Company make over 45 different beers in addition to 24 different flavors of soda and seltzer water.
Stop by Mercury Brewing Company and take a tour of their brewery and try their wide range of beers, soda, and bubbly waters.
In addition to the liquid refreshments, food is going to be provided by Ipswich Clambake! And music by The Orville Giddings Band! There will also be Activities for the kids! Fun for all! Admission is free!

1st Annual Cape Ann Restaurant Week

If you love to eat and are looking for an excuse to dine out and visit restaurants in the Cape Ann region (Gloucester, Rockport, Essex and Manchester-by-the-Sea), then make sure you take advantage of the first annual Cape Ann Restaurant Week being sponsored by the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce.
This event, which will run from October 14 through October 19, offers you the opportunity to enjoy a three-course dinner, including appetizer or salad, choice of entree, and dessert for one low price of $24.07 (not including beverage, tax or gratuity) at participating restaurants.
Participating restaurants to date include: Alchemy, Elliott’s at the Blackburn, Lobsta Land, Passports, The Gloucester House, The Grand Café at the Emerson Inn, Beach Street Bistro, The Greenery, Periwinkles, Cala’s, Coastline Grille and The Landing.

The 2007 Topsfield Fair

If you like autumn fairs, then you should plan a trip to the Topsfield Fairgrounds on Route 1 in Topsfield, MA and take in the 2007 Topsfield Fair. This annual fair is, according to the Topsfield Fair organization’s website, the oldest running agricultural fair in America.
This year the fair runs from September 28th to October 8th. The daily hours are from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. Ticket prices are $10.00 on weekdays and $12.00 on weekends. This Weekend’s Best Bet — The 18th Annual Hampton Beach Seafood Festival

And a perfect excuse to make a short run to Hampton Beach and check out the 18th Annual Hampton Beach Seafood Festival.
The festival also includes fireworks on saturday night at 8:15 pm. This is your last chance to see fireworks at Hampton Beach this year.
I can already taste those lobster rolls, clam chowder and garlic shrimp right now!
